Who is Giovanna Lamboglia
Dance Connections was founded by Giovanna Lamboglia, a highly experienced and accomplished dancer with a deep passion for helping others achieve their dream career path in the world of ballet.
With an extensive international background, Giovanna has lived and performed in four different countries as a professional ballet dancer. Her journey began in her hometown of Fortaleza, Brazil, where she started her training at the age of nine. Later, she continued her education at the renowned Maria Olenewa State Dance School in Rio de Janeiro, from which she graduated.
Throughout her career, Giovanna has excelled in numerous national and international dance competitions, earning First Place and Best Dancer. She has also participated in international competitions, such as the American Dance Competition (awarded 1st prize in Pas de Deux and Top 12 in Variation), Helsinki International Ballet Competition, and Youth America Grand Prix Finals in New York, among others.
Giovanna worked as a soloist dancer with Ballets de France in Toulouse and Canada's Ballet Jörgen in Toronto, and she has performed as a guest artist with several other companies in the United States. Throughout her career, she has taken on lead roles in iconic ballets such as Coppelia, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, and countless others.
During her time in Toronto, Giovanna had the privilege of collaborating with Evelyn Hart from 2017 to 2020 in Evelyn’s private dance group, and had the pleasure of working alongside top choreographers from the National Ballet of Canada. Her repertoire they’re included in pieces such as "Stars and Stripes," "Four Temperaments," and "Kynesis XIII," among others. Giovanna has made appearances as a guest artist performing the lead role of Clara in the Nutcracker since 2018 with Symphony of Halifax in Canada. She also holds a diploma in the American Ballet Theatre National Teaching Curriculum, which she pursued with the support of a scholarship awarded by Yumiko Dance Wear.
Currently based in London, UK, Giovanna continues to contribute to the world of ballet as a freelance artist. Her talents have been showcased in collaboration with the English Youth Ballet, where she performed as Clara in their production of "Nutcracker." She also shares her knowledge and expertise with young students and adults at prestigious dance institutions around London, including DanceWorks and London Ballet Classes.
Giovanna also holds a diploma as a Cultural Producer and has worked in galas around the country, such as the prestigious Nureyev Gala held in London, featuring Principal dancers from renowned companies such as The Royal Ballet and English National Ballet.
She has hosted online masterclasses with Principal Dancers like Skylar Brandt (of American Ballet Theatre), where she not only facilitated the sessions, but also translated the English to Portuguese, ensuring that Brazilian students could fully benefit from the teachings.
